Squirrels

Afbeelding
On our Dutch stitchinggroup "Borduurhoekje" we're having a "Wishing-carnival" and I wished for a squirrel. Saskia fulfilled my wish and didn't sent one, but even two squirrels! I love them both! Hugs, Simone

Hearts exchange for Elza

Afbeelding
Elza also received the hearts exchange I've sent to her. She made a wonderful picture of the exchange, in her appletree, so I'll use that one. Design: Friends listen with the heart - Lizzie*Kate Fabric: 28 ct. linen Floss: DMC Finish: heart ornament. Hugs, Simone

Two exchanges today

Afbeelding
Today's mail brought me two exchanges! First there was this sweet heart from Verona . It's for the Hearts exchange on the Borduurhoekje group. A little while later the mailman rang at the door with a package from Becky K. It was the HOE Woodland exchange. Becky stitched a JBW design and finished it on top of a photo album. It looks so pretty! There was also a CCN chart in the album. Verona and Becky, thank you both for your wonderful exchanges!!! It was a pleasure to receive packages today that I could actually open up already ;) Only 6 more nights o...

For the Christmas exchange on our Dutch Borduurhoekje group, I received some wonderful gifts today! Lintine stitched a JBW design for me and finished it into a sort of pinkeep (without the pins): I like it very much! She also spoiled me with goodies: Some metallic threads, beads, ribbon, 2 snowflake ornaments, a beautiful star ornament and she even managed to find a gingerbread man card! Did I already told you that I love Gingerbread man? Lintine, thank you for this great exchange! Hugs, Simone

A wish and an exchange received

I'm always get happy when the doorbell rings on a Tuesday morning, because most of the times it means the mailman is delivering (international) packages! This morning he even had two for me :) The first package contains another wish of the Borduurhoekje. I wished for a wooden sewing box I saw on a pic a while ago. Marlies was my angel and went to 3 different stores to find it for me! Thanks again Marlies! I'll treasure this darling box. There was also a big envelop from Germany. It appears to be the HOE Christmas Ornament exchange from Gaby . And OMG, she sent some wonderful things!!! I'm thrilled! Here's the complete exchange: Two wooden birdhouses (they are so cute), a By the Bay chart from my wishlist, snowmen fabric and the most wonderful stitched little house ornament I've ever seen! Let's take a closer look at that: Gaby even personalized the house for me: Gaby, you know exactly what a girl needs on a cold Tuesday morning! Thanks again for your wonderful ...

Wishes and a wreath

Afbeelding
On our Dutch "Borduurhoekje" we have this month a "Wishing carrousel". You can wish for something you like and you can fulfill wishes from others. And this morning I found two wishes in the mail! I wished for some WDW floss. Which I received from Willeke : And my second wish was a Gingerbread man or a Nutcracker in any form. Verona granted my wish and made this lovely ornament for me: Isn't he cute??? Last week I was visiting Bep and saw this wonderful wreath she has made. And a few days later she showed a totally new one on her blog ! I really liked the idea and it's easy to make. So I digged out my scrap fabrics and made myself also a wreath. I love the way it turned out: I finished it this evening so no stitching today. I'm currently working on Diana's RR. She chose for a Margaret Sherry theme. I remember exactly why I hated MS designs again... Hugs, Simone

Finally some things to show you! On our Dutch Borduurhoekje group we had an Autumn / Halloween exchange. I chose for the Autumn theme, because I have nothing with Halloween (sorry). This is what I received from Willeke this morning: She stitched "Acorn Hill" from LHN and finished it into a wallhanging. I really like it! And look at the back, I just love that fabric! (do you have some leftovers Willeke?) Here's what I made for Elza . She also chose the Autumn theme. Design: "Wee One Autumn Bird" - Heart in Hand Fabric: 36 ct. Natural linen Floss: DMC and WDW Finish: Doorhanger I also heard from Ellen that she received my floss tag for the HOE exchange. My tribute to Marion's RR

Afbeelding
On our "Borduurhoekje" group we're doing a RR with 6 people. It's my first RR ever! We all chose a different theme for our RR. The first RR I had to stitch on was Marions . She has a LHN houses theme and she also likes sheep. So I decided to stitch the left part of "The Counting House". And this is what it looks like so far: BTW; Marion did not manage to finish her own part in time ;) Hugs, Simone

Such a big coincedence, because we also received our exchanges on the same day! Here's the exchange I received from Katrien: Katrien made me a wonderful wallhanging! I received my first Floss tag today! Susan made it for me for the Make a Wish exchange. I can't believe it's her first one ever! She did a great job on the finishing. Susan stitched a part of "Pumpkin Patch", from the Prairie Schooler. My initial is on the back. (sorry, I forgot to turn the pic, so please, turn your head) Thank you so much Susan!!! Last Saturday we went stash shopping in Amersfoort, with a few ladies of the "Borduurhoekje". We had such a great day! We went to Schwitzner . An old little store completely filled (from floor to ceiling) with fabric, bands, ribbons, lace, buttons etc. It was just like a museum ;) Anyway; here is what I came home with: Hugs, Simone BTW: I decided to quit the Xmas ornie exchanges. You can read about it on the blog .

Some things to show you

Just before we left on vacation, I finished the stitching on my RR-piece. We're doing a Round Robin with 6 members of our Dutch Borduurhoekje-group, and I decided to turn mine into a kind of Neighbourhood RR. Anyway this is what I stitched on it: I stitched "Trifle from a friend" by Blackbird Designs with WDW threads. I changed the text of the original design into "Where friends gather". The fabric is a 32 ct. Jobelan (I think) which I tortured with coffee, tea and a microwave ;) September 1st it's going to Bianca , who's the next in line. Yesterday-evening I finished my holiday-project: It's "My Needle's Work" from Little House Needleworks. Stitched with Crescent Colours threads on 28 ct. Vintage linen. I'm not sure what I will make of it... I'm thinking of a bag, but I have to find a nice pattern for that. If you're interested: the chart and left-over threads are up for trading! 4 of the 7 Crescent Colours threads are stil...

Whoohoo! It's Christmas! ;)

At least, that's what it felt like, when I came home from my vacation! There were several packages waiting for me, to be opened. First of all, there was the Summer Needleroll from Iris , for the Borduurhoekje exchange. Iris made me this wonderful needleroll: I have no clue from which designer this is! Will you tell us that, Iris? Iris also included some goodies: some charts from my wishlist, some floss and a card she made herself. Iris, thank you so much for this great exchange! Than I opened up a big box from the USA. It was the SBEBB Redwork exchange from Donna . Donna made me my first hornbook! Isn't it gorgeous?! She told me it was a freebie from Mon Ami Pierre, stitched with Belle Soie silk "Cranberry". And Donna also sent me a lot of fun stuff: I really felt like a kid on Christmas Eve, while opening all these presents! Thank you so much Donna!!! Last (but not least), there was another package from Belgium. It was the matchbox from the Crazy exchange matchbox sw...
