Joepie! Ik heb vanmiddag de laatste quiltsteekjes gezet aan de Elfjes! Inmiddels heb ik de binding er met de machine langs gezet, dus nu alleen nog met de hand aan de achterkant vastzetten. Ik heb geprobeerd een paar foto's te maken van het quiltwerk, maar ik weet niet of het een beetje te zien is... (foto's zijn klikbaar voor een vergroting) Whoohoo! I've finished the quilting of the Elves! I already sewed the binding on by machine, so the only thing left is to handsew the binding to the back. I've tried to make some pictures of the quilting, but I'm not sure if you can see it on the pictures... (enlarge by clicking them)

Vanmiddag de randen en de hoek-molentjes eraan gezet en nu is de top klaar!!! Hopelijk heb ik morgen tijd om hem te strijken en te sandwichen, dan kan ik gaan doorquilten.... This afternoon I added the borders and the corner pinwheels, and now the top is finished! Hopefully I have time tomorrow to iron and sandwich it, so that I can start quilting...

Als je badkamer er zo uit ziet: When your bathroom looks like this: En dit zie je buiten: And outside it looks like this: En je voelt je zo: And you're feeling like this: Dan sluit je jezelf op in je hobbyhok... You lock yourself in in your craftroom... En je maakt blok 8.... And you're making block 8... En blok 9... And block 9... En die naai je aan blok 1 t/m 7, en dan krijg je dit!!! And you sew them to block 1 - 7 , and you get this!!! En de douche heeft weer tegels! And the shower has tiles again! So it was a good day after all... ;) Hugs, Simone

Heet van de naald: Blok 7! Eigenlijk zonde met dit mooie weer.... Maar ik was al 2 dagen druk met andere dingen geweest en wilde wel heel graag verder met de Elfjes. Dus even een uurtje boven gezeten en nu de tuin weer in! Hot from the needle: Block 7! It's very nice weather over here, but I really wanted to sew a little further on the Elves... So I spent an hour in my stitching room and now... back to the garden! Have a nice weekend! Hugs, Simone

Jeetje, die blokken gaan echt supersnel! Vanmiddag blok 6 in elkaar gezet en toen kon ik ook rij 2 in elkaar zetten. Those blocks are going really fast! This afternoon I finished block 6, so I could also assemble row 2. Natuurlijk moest ie meteen aan rij 1 gezet worden! And ofcourse I had to sew it to row 1! Het wordt al een hele lap. Ik moest al op een stoel gaan staan om de foto te maken. (zie je iig m'n tenen niet ;) ) It's quit big already. I had to stand on a chair to make the picture (at least you don't see my toes now ;) ). Vanmiddag blok 4 van de Elfjes in elkaar gezet. Blok 5 zat al in elkaar, dus op naar blok 6! En dan is er weer een rij klaar... This afternoon I assembled block 4 of the Christmas Elves. I already did block 5, so on to block 6 now! And than I already finished another row... Big hugs from sunny Vaassen, Simone

Daar ben ik alweer... Maar ik heb met dit herfstweer mijn middag goed besteed! Ik ben vanmiddag verder gegaan met het assembleren van de blokken voor de kerstelfjes en na alle voorbereidingen gaat dat supersnel! Second post today.... But we have typical autumnweather with storm and rain, so I spent the afternoon in my craft-room. I continued the assembling of the blocks of the Christmas Elves and after all the preparations it goes very fast! Dus hier is blok 2... So here is block 2... ...blok 3... ...block 3... ... en de eerste rij! (en m'n tenen ;) ) ... and the first row! (and my toes ;) ) I'm so happy with it! Hugs, Simone

De sterren zijn ook klaar! Nu kan ik de rest van de blokken in elkaar gaan zetten. I also finished the Stars, so now I can assemble the rest of the blocks! Hugs, Simone

De pinwheels zijn klaar voor de resterende 7 blokken van de Christmas Elves, nu de star-blokken nog... The pinwheels are done for the remaining 7 blocks of the Christmas Elves, now I only have to make 7 Star-blocks... Hugs, Simone

We gaan maar weer gewoon verder, waar we voor de vakantie gebleven waren ;) Vanmiddag heb ik blok 5 ( het middelste blok) van de Busy Little Christmas Elves in elkaar gezet. Ik ga nu eerst maar alle sterren en pinwheels in elkaar zetten, dan kan ik vervolgens de blokken allemaal achter elkaar maken. We continue from where we left before the vacation ;) This afternoon I assembled block 5 (the center part) of The Busy Little Christmas Elves. I'll make the rest of the pinwheels and stars first, so that I can assemble all the blocks at once. BTW... I like this block! (a lot!) Hugs, Simone

Het is toch gelukt ;) Het fototoestel zit al ingepakt, dus ik heb 'm even onder de scanner gelegd. Nu kan ik tenminste rustig op vakantie ;) I did it! The camera is already packed, so I scanned it. Now I can go on vacation ;)

Nog maar 1 te gaan! Die hoop ik vanavond af te krijgen, maar ik denk niet dat het nog gaat lukken om hem hier te showen. Only 1 more to go! I hope to finish it tonight, but I'm not sure if I can show it here. Vanaf morgen zijn we hier te vinden: Tomorrow we're leaving for our holiday here: Hugs, Simone

Gisteravond de laatste steekjes gezet aan "Holly Basket", de 2e stitchery van blok 8. Nu alleen de laatste twee van blok 9 nog! Yesterday evening I did the last stitches on "Holly Basket", the second stitchery of Block 8. Only 2 more stitcheries of Block 9 left! Hugs, Simone

Gisteren heerlijk in de tuin zitten borduren, dus ik kan weer wat elfjes showen: Spent my afternoon yesterday stitching in the garden, so I've more elves to show you: "Choir Boys" "Minding the Present" Woensdag gaan we op vakantie en dan wil ik de elfjes eigenlijk klaar hebben, nog maar 2,5 te gaan! We're going on holiday next Wednesday and I want the Elves to be finished before that. Only 2,5 more to go! Deze quilt hangt al een hele tijd zo over de stoel, maar hij was nog steeds niet af! Heel af en toe quiltte ik een stukje en dan hing die weer mooi te wezen over de stoel. Maar nu is hij eindelijk helemaal klaar! Dit is trouwens een echte "luie-huisvrouwen-quilt"; de stof met de driehoeken komt zo van de rol van Moda! Dus ik hoefde hem alleen maar te sandwichen en door te quilten! This quilt was draped over the chair for a long time already, but wasn't finished. It still had to be quilted. Now and than I did some quilting, and afterwards it wa...

En dan zijn er ineens twee tegelijk klaar! "Starhug" is maar een kleintje, dus die was snel af. Dit zijn de 2e stitchery van blok 6 en de 1e van blok 7. Er zijn in totaal 9 blokken, dus het begint al aardig op te schieten! And then I have 2 finishes at the same time! "Starhug" is very small so it was a quick stitch. These are the second stitchery of block 6 "Filling the Sled" and the first of block 7 "Starhug". The quilt has 9 blocks in total, so the end is near. Hugs, Simone

Daar is er weer één, van blok 6 alweer: "In the elf garden". Heb vanmiddag nog een aantal stitcheries over zitten trekken op stof. Ik ga nog wat "modellenwerk" doen en ik kreeg het volgende blok van de sneeuwmannen en rendierenquilt! We hebben alleen een heel druk weekend, met allemaal verjaardagen, dus er zal wel niet zo veel van borduren komen... Here's another one, from block 6: "In the elf garden". I draw some new stitcheries on fabric this afternoon. I have some "modelling" to do and the next block of the Snowman and Reindeerquilt arrived! Gisteravond de 2e stitchery van blok 4 afgemaakt; "Elf Mailbag". Yesterday evening I finished the second stitchery of block 4; "Elf Mailbag". Met Picasa heb ik nog even zitten spelen en een collage gemaakt van de elfjes tot nu toe: I've played a little with Picasa and made a collage of the Elves so far. Hugs, Simone

Vanochtend de laatste steekjes gezet aan de 2e stitchery van blok 3 "Decorate the tree". Zometeen eerst boodschappen doen en hopelijk heb ik dan vanmiddag nog even tijd om weer een blok in elkaar te zetten. This morning I finished the second stitchery of block 3 "Decorate the tree". I'll have to do some grocery shopping first, but I hope I have some time left this afternoon, to assemble another block of the quilt. Have a nice weekend! Hugs, Simone
