Soed idee!

Ik kreeg vanmiddag ineens een "Soed Idee"! Ik loop al een tijdje te brainstormen over wat ik nu eens zal doen met die prachtige Rouenneries stofjes. Totdat Miranda op haar blog de opmerking maakte dat het grijs meer beige is.... En ik ineens bedacht dat deze kleuren wel heel mooi zouden combineren met naturel borduurlinnen. Vervolgens ben ik in m'n borduurgarens gedoken en vond ook nog eens de perfecte kleuren roze/rood van Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe en een mooie bruin/grijze kleur van GAST. Alleen.... dan moet ik er wel nog wat op borduren! Lijkt me wel heel mooi om daar "franse" samplermotieven voor te nemen....

This aftnernoon I suddenly got a "Soed Idee" (good idea)! I'm already thinking for a while what to do with the Rouenneries fabric. Until I read Miranda's blog where she mentioned that the grey color is actually more a beige color.... So I started thinking that it would combine perfectly with a natural linen. And I found the perfect faded red thread from the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe and a brown/grey color from GAST in my stash. But.... I'll have to stitch something with it than! Would be nice to stitch some "French" samplermotifs, I think....

Maar.... Ik heb ook nog de Beatrix Potter Quaker Sampler! Misschien wel gaaf om een aantal van die Quaker medaillons te borduren en in de quilt te verwerken?

I also got the chart of the Beatrix Potter Quaker Sampler! Maybe I should stitch some of the Quaker medaillons en work them into the quilt?

Je begrijpt misschien dat de radaren hier nog lang niet uitgedraaid zijn! Vermoeiend hoor, zo'n creatief brein ;)

Well, as you can imagine the thinking is not finished for a long time!
Pfffffff, it's hard to be creative ;)

A finish, Autumn quilt and Christmas candy

Ik heb dit weekend lekker zitten prikken aan deze kerstfreebee van Elisa. Ik heb ook nog een stitcherie gemaakt, maar dat is een kadootje voor iemand, dus die kan ik nog niet laten zien.

This weekend I stitched this freebee from Elisa. I also made a stitchery, but that's a present for someone, so I can't show it yet.

74 x 95 stitches

Verder heb ik nog wat randjes aan de Herfst Log cabins gezet. Ik heb ze nu even opgeruimd, want ik moet eerst wat kadootjes maken voor 5 december en wat dingen afwerken voor Kerst :)

I add some more borders to the Autumn Log Cabins. I've put them away for a while now, becauce I first have to make some presents and do some finishing for the upcoming holidays.

Een tijdje terug zag ik op Edgar's blog Kerst M&M's! In kerstkleuren en met mint-smaak. Nu weet ik toevallig dat Edgar gek is op drop... Dus ik liet een berichtje achter met de vraag of hij wilde ruilen. En wat schetst mijn verbazing? Vanochtend lag er een zak Kerst M&M's in de brievenbus!!! Ik moet nu dus snel een zak drop naar San Fransisco sturen.

A while ago, I saw on Edgar's blog these Christmas M&M's! With Christmascolors and Mintflavour! We don't have them in the Netherlands, but we have "Drop". And Edgar happens to like drop very much. So I left him a comment if he wants to trade. Edgar really surprised me, when I found this bag of Christmas M&M's in the mail this morning!!! So a bag of drop is heading to San Fransisco soon. Thanks a lot Edgar!

De verleiding is groot, maar ik bewaar ze toch echt voor de Kerst! Eerst nog pepernoten eten ;)

It's going to be hard, but I'm going to keep these for Christmas!

Advent-curtain

Een tijdje geleden heb ik de vitrage op m'n naaikamertje weg gehaald, want die gebruikte ik toch niet. Maar de rails met de haakjes hangt er nog wel. En daar kun je heel makkelijk van alles aan op hangen! Dus vanmiddag heb ik m'n 25 Advent-kadootjes aan 3 touwtjes vast gemaakt en nu heb ik een heel leuk gordijn voor de balkondeur! (en nee, er staat geen enge man op het balkon, dat is een overhemd van DH wat hangt te luchten :D )

A while ago I removed the curtains in my sewing room, because I never use them. But the rails and crotchets are still there, so I can easily hang all kind of stuff to them. This afternoon I attached my 25 Advent-pressies to 3 ropes and now I have a very cool curtain for the balcony door! (and NO, there's not a scary man on the balcony, that's DH shirt getting some fresh air :D)

Willeke's RR

Een paar minuten geleden heb ik ook de laatste kruisjes gezet op Willeke's RR! Wat een verschil met die van Donna (40 ct of 28 ct). Deze kruisjes leken ineens ENORM! Maar nu Willeke's RR geweest is, betekent ook dat mijn eigen Friendship Sampler weer bijna thuis is... Alleen die van Diana en Karin nog.

Just a minute ago I've made the last stitches on Willeke's RR! What a difference with Donna's (40 ct or 28 ct). These crosses seems to be HUDGE! Now that Willeke's RR has been done, it means that my own Friendship Sampler is heading home.... Only Diana's and Karin's left to do.

Advent Swap

Vanochtend ontving ik een MEGA-pakket uit Australië!!! Mijn Advent SWAP van Vickie! Moet je zien hoeveel postzegels er op zitten!

This morning I received an HUDGE parcel from Australia!!! The Advent SWAP from Vickie! Look at all the stamps!

En dit zit er in; 25 kadootjes! Spannend hè???

And this is inside the parcel; 25 presents! Exciting is it???

Nu hoef ik alleen nog maar 21 nachtjes te slapen en geduldig af te wachten.... (Yeah right!), tot ik op 1 december kadootje nr. 25 mag open maken!

Now I only have to sleep 21 nights and wait patiently.... (Yeah right!), untill I can open present nr. 25 on December 1st!

It's going to cost me my nails!
