Birthday Exchange

Afbeelding
Design: Winter Sampler by Little House Needleworks, JCS Christmas Ornaments Issue 2009 Fabric: 28 ct. Cashel, unknown color (beige/green) Floss: Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe Finish: Standing pillow ornament. Elza had her Birthday back in June, but her partner never sent her anything. So I was Elza's angel and made something for her. Hugs, Simone

So yesterday, I could finally open up my presents! The first one is from Joke for the Crazy exchange group: She must have known my favourite colours are Autumn colors! I've got some quiltfabrics, a package with felt and threads and this gorgeous set of floss tag and needlebook: Isn't that pretty? Thank you so much Joke! And than there was the exchange of Tineke for the Borduurhoekje group: She sent me some ribbons, buttons, a beautiful piece of Silkweavers linen, a lovely wooden chicken and this wonderful pincushion with trashbag: Now, that's useful!!! And I love the LHN design Tineke used for it. Tineke, thank you also for this great exchange! And here's what came out of the big box from Sonda , for the SBBC: Sonda made a "Christmas-in-May" present of it! So there was a Just Nan chart, DMC gold thread, a package of Kreinik metallics, a finishing fabric, napkins, a planner, lots of DMC varigated threads (which I didn't had yet) and this gorgeous Christma...

Another birthday present!

Birthday exchange from Wendy Jo

Wendy Jo said I don't have to wait till my birthday, so I opened her package up right away! I'm like a small child when it comes to birthdays ;) Here's what Wendy Jo sent me: What a great package it is! Wendy Jo picked a LHN chart (Heart and Home sampler) from my wishlist and also added some cord for finishing and piecemakers needles. And on top of that, she made me this wonderful Scissorskeep: With a pair of stork scissors on the back: Thanks again Wendy Jo! I love everything you sent me a lot!!! This is great start for my upcoming birthday ;) Big Hugs, Simone

Mail and first update Nell'Aria

You might have noticed that my birthday is coming near.... And yesterday I allready received my first present! It's from Wendy Jo. I did a personal birthday exchange with her. I'm trying to be strong and wait 'till May 4 th before I'm opening it... I'm in four different birthday exchanges, so there will be lots of presents this year! :) Today another big envelope fell on my doorstep... And it was not for my birthday... It's from Marne !!! When Marne came here for our Crazy exchange Quilting Bee, she noticed all the birdhouses in my backyard. So when she found this book, she thought of me! Thank you so much, Marne, I love the book!!! And here is my first update of Renato Parolin's "Nell'Aria" after two nights of stitching. I'm using DMC on a 35 ct. tea dyed french linen. It's stitching pretty fast. Hugs, Simone BTW; be on the look out for a Blogoversary give-away!

RR Chantal and Birthday exchange Nic

Yesterday I finished the stitching on Chantal's RR! It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be... Chantal wanted a Stitching Devil by EMS on her RR, and I chose the little devil with thimble. And here's the complete RR so far: I also heard from Nic that she received my Birthday exchange for her 40th birthday! I was a bit late with sending, but it was still in time. I only have a pic of the stitched part: Design: Stitching Necessaire - Homespun Elegance Fabric: 28 ct Cashel Linen Floss: WDW Bark and Onyx Finish: Stitching Necessaire. Hugs, Simone

Exchange received and some pimping

Wendy Jo finally received her birthday exchange I've sent her! Her birthday was January 12th, but the mailcompany took its time to deliver my package. This is what I've made Wendy Jo: Design: The Seasons - Bent Creek Fabric: 28 ct. Graziano linen Floss: DMC Finish: wall hanging I've made a wall hanging of the stitched piece, but Wendy Jo can easily make it into a cushion either! Here's the complete exchange I've sent: I wanted a new handbag, because I thought my current one was boring... But it was perfectly fine and I liked the size of it. So I decided to "pimp" it! First I dyed it black (it was grey/brown). After that I dived into my buttons, ribbons and other stuff, and sewed, glewed and ironed it on my bag. I'm really happy with the result! Hugs, Simone

Exchanges received by their new owners

I heard some of my exchanges have been received. First of all Chantal's birthday exchange of the Borduurhoekje group. Chantal recently started to collect Pincushions, so it wasn't hard to decide what I should make for her. I've sent her one of my sheep: And I made her a pincushion (Chantal is also font of Tea): Design: (part of) The Tea Room - Country Cottage Needlework Fabric: 36 ct. Natural Irish Linen Floss: DMC Finish: Pin Pillow We also had a Summer-Needleroll exchange on the Borduurhoekje. This is the one I made for Bianca : Design: freebee from The Rainbow gallery Fabric: 32 ct. Linen Floss: DMC Finish: Needleroll I'm currently stitching on my RR, which starts on September 1st. Hopefully I manage to finish it before we go on holiday, next wednesday.

Exchanges arrived

A few days ago was Daniela's Birthday, so she could finally open up my present for the Birthday exchange ! Daniela asked for an exchange from senders country, so I tried to make her a Dutch Birthday present. A Dutch handkerchief, a Dutch chart, Dutch licorice, a Dutch tuckpillow and some other goodies. I also received a message from Edgar , that he finally received my HOE LHN exchange! I stitched the "Wool Needlebook" for him, but changed it into a "Pyn Keepe" (I love the way Edgar use to write this!). Design: Wool Needlebook - Little House Needlework Fabric: 32 ct. Natural Irish linen Floss: DMC Finish: Pynkeepe I saw on Edgar's blog that he also likes black licorice. Since it's typical Dutch, I sent him a big bag, along with some other goodies. You can see the complete exchange in Edgar's blog .

Bird(house)day exchanges

Hi all, I'm home again, from a wonderful vacation in France. We had great weather, so we didn't do much... ;) I hardly didn't stitch either! It was too hot, or too windy, or too late in the evening... Instead of that I read two books of Jennifer Chiaverini (Round Robin and Cross Country Quilters). On May 4th it was my Birthday and it was fun to celebrate it on the camping, together with my family and some other camping-guests. Here I am opening Janaina's Birthday exchange for the Crazy exchange group. And these are the pretty things Janaine sent me from Brasil: She made me a perfectly stitched tea-towel (you should see the backside, it's so neat!). And add some Anchor threads, linen, quiltfabrics and other goodies. Thank you Janaina! This is the beautiful exchange I received from Pascale from our Borduurhoekje group: She made me a quilted wallhanging and 3 cute little birds, and sent a book with Christmas charts, some threads and a little birdhouse. Thanks Pascale!...

A good day for mail

Why is it that an exchange never comes alone? But always on the same day with another one... Not that I'm complaining or anything. First of all I received this wonderful exchange from Cathy B. for the Seasonal exchange. Spring is the last season of a year full of surprises! Cathy made me this very pretty pinkeep! She did a great job on the finishing. And she spoiled me so much... again! A pair of Gingher scissors (I love them!), a chart of Blackbird Designs and a Lizzie Kate chart, which is even signed! Even the card that was enclosed was "stitched";) Cathy, thank you so much for a whole year of wonderful exchanges! You were the best exchange partner someone could wish for! Today I also received this big package. BUT... it says not to open it before May 4th... My hands are itching, but I'll try to be strong! It's the birthday exchange from our Borduurhoekje, from Pascale. Since I will be on vacation with my birthday Pascale sent it little earlier. So you'll h...
