Bep's Moose

He's still a bit naked, but here's Bep 's Moose! Isn't he cute??? Tomorrow I'll make him some clothes, so he will be ready for Christmas! I have a question for my readers... Is there someone who wants to knit him a red scarf? I do a lot of crafting, but I can't knit :( And I think this little moose definitely needs a scarf!

Craft-market

Here's my score from the visit of the Wol- en Handwerkbeurs (Craft-market) in Rijswijk, last Saturday: I did my best ;) The linen band in the front (white/natural stripes) is for Fanci That's "Shaker Village", which I got in the Autumn Exchange from Cathy. A few little patterns. Great for exchanges! I love the warm colors of this linen! Ofcourse I had to visit Bep and couldn't leaf without some stuff... And here is part 3 and 4 of the Stitchers Tray from Maryse:

Autumn exchange from Cathy B.

Look at this! Isn't that gorgeous??? I received this package from Cathy B. for the Autumn-part of the Seasonal exchangers. And I love it all!!! Autumn is definitely my favorite season. Cathy made me this wonderful flat fold with a Homespun Elegance design and the nice fabric on the back. She also included a pair of Gingher scissors "Lanell" with a complimentary design for a Scissor pocket from The Cat Whiskers. And a leaflet from Fanci That "Shaker Village" from my wishlist. And on top of all of that, there is also a small wooden broche. This package was such a pleasure to receive and to open up!!! Cathy sure knows what I like! Thank you Cathy, you've made my weekend!

Birdhouse ornament

Today I received this Birdhouse ornament in the mail from Elza. She has sent it, to thank me for organizing the Christmas Ornament exchange. Isn't that sweet? She also enclosed a Jeremiah Junction leaflet with lots of birdhouses. Elza knows what I like ;) Elza, thank you so much for this sweet surprise!

Wall hanging finished

Today we have such poor wetter here in Holland :( It's dark, grey, rainy, cold... Good wetter for a large pot of tea, some candles and a Christmas quilt that has to be finished! So that's what I did this afternoon, and now my wall hanging is completely finished. This is my absolute favorite Atelier Bep -pattern! Mainly because of the moose, which I adore ;) Today I also sent two Christmas ornaments to their new homes. I hope my exchange partners like them! Just one more exchange to finish and then I'm done with the exchanges for this year! Thank you all for reading my blog and your nice comments. I sure appreciate them! Hugs, Simone

Christmas wallhanging

Today we had such a relaxing day! We slept long, did some reading, drunk some cappuccino's and took a long walk in the forest. When we came back we made some hot chocolate, put a Harry Potter-movie in the DVD-player and meanwhile I did the appliques of this Christmas wallhanging, from Atelier Bep . And now the top is finished! Now I just have to finish it into a wallhanging...

Plateau de Maryse

On our Dutch Borduurhoekje Group we're doing a SAL of this stitcher's tray from Maryse . Last week we've supposed to start with it, but I had some other projects that had to be finished first. So this week I stitched part 1 and 2 at once, and this is what it looks like so far. I'm stitching it on a 32 ct. Lugana from a grabbag of Silkweavers, with DMC 221. And I love the warm tone of this color!

Read Thread serie part 7

Yesterday I've finished part 7 of Bent Creek's Red Thread Snapper serie. This project is so much fun to stitch! This is what the total looks like, so far (I've finished the complete border, but it almost doesn't fit on a picture!): Next project will be this stitchingtray . I'm doing a SAL with this on the Dutch Borduurhoekje-group. Wishing you all a nice weekend full of stitches!

Merlin Page 16

Yesterday I finished page 16 from HAED's Merlin & Arthur. This was only a half page. The colors are very dark, so it's a bit hard to see....

African Mamas

Afbeelding
Last night DH and I went to the theatre to see the African Mamas . Wow, what a great show we've seen!!! The African Mamas are 10 gorgous African women, singing and dancing traditional African songs. But also more popular songs and gospel. The songs are coming straight from the heart and you can feel that! There were many times I've got the pimples and even tears in my eyes. We had places on the 2nd row, so I had a very good look on their wonderful costumes too! They had wonderful dresses full of appliques, embroidery and beading. It inspired me a lot! I think I should stitch something African... Or buy some of those wonderful printed African fabrics... You just have to check out their website ! There are some fragments of their songs and some videofragments. We sure had a fantastic evening!
