Stoffenspektakel

Yesterday evening I went to the "Stoffenspektakel" in Zwolle, with Jacqueline and her friend Mylene. It's a large fabricmarket, where they show the fabrics of the new season and a lot of left overs from last season and the industry. Although most of the fabrics are meant for fashion purpose, there are also some cottons that can be used for patching, finishing and quilting.
I found this great panel for only 4 euros! Also bought a kind of chinese fabric which I think, will be great to finish something with. A Batik in nice ocean-colors, a red-white plaid (for a christmas project?) and this big piece of "sheep-wool". I really don't know what kind of fabric this is, but I need a small piece to make a sheep and this costs only 2 euro per meter. I think I can make at least hundred sheeps of it ;)
I also bought some nice fabrics in natural colors with plaids and stripes.
But I split them with Jacqueline, and she took them home to cut them in half.
Jacqueline bought some great fabrics to make clothes of for her little daughter Alice. I think Alice is gonna look so pretty this next winter! I almost felt sorry, that I'm not into sewing clothes...LOL
We had a great evening and the next Stoffenspektakel on the 5th of March 2008 is already in our agenda's.

From your description and your pictures it sounds just wonderful. Wish I had been there to go with you. Those markets are so much fun. I'd love to join your Christmas ornament exchange but I am not nearly good enough - I need aida to work on, as a beginner. I will look forward to seeing pictures of all your work.

OK.... Ik kon zelf ook niet langer wachten... ;) De eerste borduurpatronen van Atelier Soed Idee zijn een feit! Ik heb een nieuw blog aangemaakt waar je de patronen als PDF-bestand kunt bestellen (ook via Paypal). Ik ben nog bezig om ze ook als "papieren" patroon te maken, maar dat vergt nog even wat tijd. Zigzag band

Een heel gelukkig, gezond en creatief nieuw jaar gewenst! I wish you a healthy, happy and creative new year! Onlangs kwamen deze leuke zigzag bandjes binnen. Ze zijn er in verschillende (antiekerige) kleurtjes en diverse afmetingen. Recently these nice ricrac bands came in. They are available in various (antique looking) colors and sizes. Ik heb al een paar van de bandjes gebruikt voor de afwerking van deze ornamentjes: I already used some of the bands to finish these ornaments: Het leuke is dat je heel veel verschillende dingen kunt doen met het zigzagband.
